PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

David Griem was admitted to practice law in Michigan and the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan in 1973, and the United States Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit in 1980.

He served as the principal trial attorney with the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office and later as assistant chief of the criminal division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan.

David has represented defendants in many high-profile cases in Michigan, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and New York. He has personally conducted more than 200 criminal and civil jury trials.

AREAS OF PRACTICE

David’s practice focuses on criminal defense in both state and federal courts.  His practice areas include all types of fraud including health care fraud; public corruption, bribery and extortion; corporate embezzlement; money laundering; racketeering and conspiracy (RICO); violent crimes; drug crimes; and OWI/drinking and driving.

He has represented many professionals, including medical professionals, lawyers, business owners, corporate executives, police officers, government officials and others who find themselves under the government’s scrutiny. Mr. Griem also has an extensive civil practice.

Among the numerous corporate clients David has represented are General Motors, General Dynamics, Johnson Controls, K-Mart, Don Massey Enterprises and Spawn Comics.
