United States v. Alejandro Cevallos (1982)
ABOUT THE CASE
United States v. Alejandro Cevallos, et al was a federal Mexican drug cartel case prosecuted by David Griem through the U.S. Attorney’s Office in September of 1982 after David Griem had resigned as a federal prosecutor to take a job as the City Attorney for Warren, Michigan, the third largest city in the State of Michigan.
Shortly before the Cevallos case went to trial, Griem volunteered to come back to try the Cevallos case with no pay from the feds (they did pay for his parking) all the while he was working as Warren City Attorney. The case was defended by two prominent defense attorneys from Texas, Dick Deguerin and Richard “Racehorse” Haynes. At the close of trial all of the defendants were convicted on all counts.
If you are under investigation by local or state police or by the FBI it is important to contact an experienced criminal defense attorney prior to ever talking with the authorities.
